wings mastering

Wings Mastering pursues the basic idea of working together with artists to finance a mixdown or mastering.

With the possibility of streaming in 16-32 bit and 44.1 kHz PCM directly into the monitoring environment of our customers, it is possible to effectively record, implement and listen to customer requests live. This method is a great advantage when finalising a mixdown in collaboration with the artists, as it is not always possible to attend in the studio.

Also in mastering and especially stem mastering, the last subtleties and details can be discussed before the finalisation to the desired delivery formats takes place.

engineer

Since 2006 Daniel has been active in the music business and has started with his own productions and mixes.

Over the years, he has developed through training and further education to the point of becoming a mixing and mastering engineer and is always and constantly concerned with changes, innovations or the necessary technology in the digital and analogue field.

He has a degree in medical engineering and has worked on psychoacoustics and effects, as well as sound absorbers for recording noise levels and spectra.

Audio technology is not only a field of application for Daniel, he planned, built and programmed midi controllers and filters for his own use in productions or to simplify the workflow.

His goal is to deliver the best possible result for the customer and personal contact in the form of exchange, recommendations and mutual growth is very important to him.

mixing & mastering

mixing

The aim of mixing is to bring all the individual tracks to a finished mixdown. The individual tracks should be processed into a homogeneous, balanced mix and reflect the thoughts, emotions and vision of the artists.
In most cases, the mixdown consists of a stereo track made up of the left and right channels.

Stem mixing is based on groups of audio tracks, also called subgroups or submixes. Here, each individual track is not processed and brought to the mixdown, but the group tracks are mixed, balanced and brought to the final mixdown.

The exchange between artists and mixing engineers is indispensable in this process to achieve the desired result.

mastering

The aim of mastering is to bring the mixes from an album or the individual mixdowns into one unit. Mastering is to be seen as a final process that adjusts loudnesses according to the delivery formats. Here the focus is on a balanced frequency spectrum, the loudness of the tracks, the dynamics and the pauses for the transitions of the individual tracks on an album. Fade-ins and fade-outs can be set to create the best possible listening experience.

Stem mastering is a technique derived from stem mixing. As with stem mixing, the grouped audio tracks can be processed individually. It is used to allow independent control and signal processing of each individual stem. This allows the stems to be manipulated independently. The intervention possibilities and the change of the character of the mix can be a consequence of this way of working.

The coordination of the mastering engineer with the artist or mixing engineer is very important here.
